Membrane is constructed of polyimide hollow fiber membranes bundled into a cylindrical pressure container, with resin membrane elements fixed at both ends. The compressed air fed into the interior of the polyimide hollow fiber membrane, and oxygen gas selectively permeates through the hollow fiber walls. Oxygen enriched gas is emitted from the permeable gas outlet, and nitrogen enriched gas out from the hollow fiber outlet.

Atmospheric air is sucked and compressed by an Air compressor at 7 bar pressure with high temperature. Afterwards it passed through an external refrigeration system to cool down the temperature. Further the cooled air passed through a moisture separator to remove the moisture. Now the dry and saturated air passed through a carbon molecular sieves bed where oxygen & Nitrogen get separated and remaining contents of air purged into atmosphere. Again this separated nitrogen pass through a Cryogenerator which works on stirling cycle which cools the gases nitrogen to a liquid state at 77 kelvin which is boiling point of Nitrogen.

Liquid Nitrogen plant working principle based on fractional distillation for generation of high purity nitrogen. Atmospheric air sucked by an air compressor and sent into the air purification unit where impurities such as moisture, hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide are removed. Afterwards the air is passed through heat exchangers where it is cooled to cryogenic temperatures. At this point, nitrogen is directed into the high pressure distillation column where nitrogen is physically separated from other gases and is formed at the top of the column. Nitrogen is removed from the column and is moved to low pressure column where it is distilled till it meets the commercial specifications for purity.

Nitrogen fire fighting system commonly used in power transformers at Power sub stations. Nitrogen Injection fire protection system (NIFPS) prevents explosions or rapture and possible oil fire in event of minor nature of arcing due to internal faults or external faults in transformers oil tanks. In case of rise in Temperature inside Transformer due to various reasons, PLC based NIFPS system receives internal inherent Faults / Feedback / Trip Signals from Transformer Panel.
