The PSA process utilized CMS to extract the nitrogen from atmospheric air.
The PSA process comprise 2 - vessels filled with Carbon molecular sieves & Activated Alumina.
Once Oil free clean air passed through the vessel, pure nitrogen comes out as product gas.
The exhaust ( adsorbed Oxygen) gas is vented to atmosphere. Once molecular sieves saturated, the process switch over to other tower by automatic valves. In mean time saturated bed to undergo regeneration by depressurization and purging to atmospheric pressure.
Hence cyclic operation of 2 - vessels in nitrogen production & regeneration ensure continuous availability of Nitrogen gas to your process.
